Young, Wyld & Free, Baby! Here's a bit about me ;)

What's popping y'all? The name's Wyld Tha Bard and ever since I've been able to walk and talk, I've always had a vision of wanting to perform and share my forms of artistic expression with the rest of the world! I've been passionate about performing from the ripe age of 3, where I would consistently annoy members of my family with my sporadic thespian tid bits.

Growing up, I was very much the multi-colored rainbow sheep of the family (black just ain't my color). My sister along with my cousins, were very much jocks and really into the sports thing. I just went through the motions throughout grade school, trying my best to fit in to this facade of being some hyper-masculine macho man (although I am addicted to the gym tho). But I never was really fooling anyone. For several years when my family would meet up for various holidays at my Grandmother's house, I would take the liberty of producing, writing and directing little amateur plays that featured my sister and cousins forcefully playing the roles of the various characters. This became routine, where we did shows for every Thanksgiving, and Christmas family occasion. After a while, we stopped doing the shows mainly because I was the only one who really took them seriously, the rest of the family was just doing their best to tolerate such a artsy fartsy eccentric weirdo...

It's all good because to this day I'm beyond grateful for the love and support that I have gotten from so many people through out the years regarding my passion for the arts. Hip Hop was admittedly my first love, where I started getting into rapping when I was in seventh grade. Around that time I was also starting to gradually get introduced into poetry. I found myself falling in love with the seemingly infinite ways there were to coordinate rhymes and sound.

I've always been into singing, where I was singing since a youngin. Over time my voice simply has evolved to a style that fits my uniqueness. To this day, if you talk to many of the kids who went to elementary school with me, they would remember me most likely as the kid who danced and sang to the Temptation's "My Girl" back in fifth grade (I was just dancing and lip syncing, but they swear out I was singing so whatever). It was from that moment where a lot of people around me started to see me as an "entertainer". I ate this up because it was always a dream of mine to hang with the big shots in Hollywood.

Fast forward to the now moment, my earlier days truly set the tone for my grind today. Despite hearing constant criticism and doubts about my path to creating art and music, it only makes me more motivated to keep on keeping on! These days I am in the process of putting together a debut mixtape/Ep thing that will be out in 2018. In the meantime I have been getting ready for a few performances coming up in 2018 (more details to come late yo) along with sharing my love for dance and movement via video with the rest of the world. I believe that we live in some unprecedented times, where we have the tools to make anything under the sun happen! it all just comes down to believing in ourselves. For, me I have suffered through this inferiority complex most of my life, such as many of us do, but just recently I started to awaken to the fact that the only thing that was stopping me from going after a life of my dreams was simply my own ego. Thus began a long and pending journey where I decided to just go for it and push myself to be the best that I can be at my craft (it still whips my ass but it's worth it!).

It is my intention to share my love, my pain and my unique perspective with the rest of the world through my music, song and dance. I understand that this world is crazy, and life is getting increasingly hard for many people. It is my goal to be able to touch a wide range of people through my art. I want to lovingly show others that their lives, their perspectives matter. I very much believe that each of us are the change that we want to see in this world, and I plan to do my part to use my talents to make my corner of the world a little more inclusive, shiny and loving. Thank you all for taking the time out of your day to visit the Funky Shaman! I I will be posting various posts that feature my various artistic pursuits in one way or another, along with sharing my personal thoughts and opinions on random things such as trends in music culture and how music overall effects our moods! Until next time, stay be(you)tiful, one love and increase the peace! Boo-yah! Oh and PS, I would love to hear from you all! So please feel free to share your thoughts and opinions in the comment section!
